The beginning of the heating season depends on weather conditions – the Vice Prime Minister

The heating season in different regions of Ukraine may start before November 1 depending on weather conditions.

This was stated by the Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman at the end of the government’s crisis energy meeting, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers informed.

He said that technically Ukraine was ready for the heating period, as planned, on October 1, 2014.

He said that the Ministry of Regional Development had inspected 17 regions for their readiness for winter and confirmed one hundred percent technical readiness for the heating period.

"If there are adverse weather conditions, the heating season will begin in regions where such weather conditions will require to start heating" – Groisman said.

"As for gas, during the 1^st week of October, according to the reports of the "Naftogaz", the consumption is within set limits, but it is clear that weather contributes to this. Today I set the task for them, that residential and social facilities must be provided with gas before anything else", – Groisman said.

The Vice Prime Minister said that the set limits of gas consumption must be followed by all regions, as it affects the stability of the heating period.
