On August 11, a member of the Right Sector from Transcarpathia was killed in the battle near Starohnativka – he was among the forces of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps that deterred the enemy offensive.
His death was confirmed on the site of the Right Sector in Transcarpathia:
"The sad news unfortunately has been confirmed. Yesterday, one of our best fighters "Bison" was killed in the battle near Starohnativka.
His blood is on the hands of those who signed the Minsk Agreement and demanded withdrawal of weapons from the front line.
Now that Bison has joined the ranks of the Heaven Army of Ukraine, we must do everything possible and impossible to finish his work so that his sacrifice is not in vain.
Deep sympathy from 1st Batallion of the RS to the family of the deceased hero. May he rest in peace!".
According to various sources, in total about seven Ukrainian soldiers lost their lives in the battle, three of whom were members of the RS, including Transcarpathians. There is a not yet confirmed information about wounded Transcarpathians.
