The authorities and public organizations of Transcarpathia are unanimous in their opinion on the attack on the office of the Society of Hungarian Culture

Today, it seems that all the events taking place in Transcarpathia fall into the background, and the main news is the attack of unknown forces at the office of the Society of Hungarian Culture. We are presenting to the readers opinions of famous people and organizations of our region on this event.

Here, we are citing the chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Mykhailo Rivis and the head of the regional state administration Hennadiy Moskal.

Mykhailo Rivis declares that no one will succeed in disrupting the situation in peaceful Transcarpathia on interethnic grounds.

– First and foremost, on behalf of the deputies and myself, I express sincere words of support to the Hungarian community of Transcarpathia. I am convinced that such criminal acts are committed by extremist groups or individual radicals, and not tolerant and friendly Transcarpathia. The undeniable facts of recent arson of the office of the Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia committed by Polish citizens, members of the right-wing radical organization "Phalanga", are the evidence of it. 
The Transcarpathian Regional Council categorically condemns such unacceptable acts in a civilized society on peaceful land.    
I want to assure you that no one will succeed in disrupting the situation in peaceful Transcarpathia on an interethnic grounds! 

The head of the Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal does not doubt that those are Russian special services that are behind the attack on the office of the Society of Hungarian Culture:

  – The attack on the Society of Hungarian Culture office in Uzhgorod was inspired by Russian special services – I personally have no doubts about this, – Hennadiy Moskal says. – The FSB have repeatedly organized provocations in Transcarpathia.      
At the same time, as the head of the regional state administration, I declare that such provocations of the Russian special services will have no effect on the good-neighborly relations of Ukrainians, Hungarians and representatives of other nationalities living in Transcarpathia in peace and harmony.
