Beregovo local prosecutors started preliminary investigation regarding an Austrian citizen over facilitation in trafficking of four Turkish citizens across the state border of Ukraine into the European Union.
The said criminal offense was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations under Part 2 of Art.332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine.
On December 25, Beregovo district court imposed on the Austrian citizen a pretrial restraint in the form of detention.

Part 2 of Art.332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – organization of illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine, the management of such activity or facilitation in the commission thereof by giving advice, instructions, providing means or removing obstacles committed in collusion by a group of persons, punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to seven years with confiscation of the means of commission of crime.
