The Antimonopoly Committee, due to rising food prices, will check retailers, suppliers and producers of food products for compliance with the legislation on protection of economic competition.
This is stated in a press release of the AMC.
"Due to the increase in food prices in late February, the AMC has started the investigation into the activities of major retailers, suppliers and food manufacturers for compliance with the requirements of the legislation on protection of economic competition," – the statement says.
As noted, in case any violations of the law on protection of economic competition are detected, the Committee will take action in accordance with applicable law.
The press service also said that according to the balance of supply and demand of basic foodstuffs developed by the Minister of Economic Development Ukraine, no food shortages are observed.
