At the meeting with the management of the Medical and Social Rehabilitation Center "Way of Life" Johannes de Mol, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Ukraine, explained why he was interested in the activities of this institution. As it turned out, the issue of assistance to people with disabilities has always been important in the ambassador’s family. Johannes’ mother for many years worked with people with disabilities, so from an early age he was accustomed to respect and sympathize with such people and those who care for them.

Despite the fact that there are currently no children in the Center due to quarantine, the Ambassador of the Netherlands made a tour of the premises where the pupils usually stay and where classes are held. Oleg Kyrylenko, the director of the center "Way of Life", told the guest of honor that before the quarantine, the institution had been attended by 80 students who received comprehensive services.

The Deputy Director Iryna Roshkovych informed the Ambassador about the established cooperation of the Center with Dutch partners, which has been going on since 2006.

When asked by Mr. de Mol how the staff of the institution works with their wards during the quarantine, the deputy director of the Center Svitlana Anitseva noted that a system of remote communication had been introduced in order to make direct contact with the pupils. She added: this system, of course, is not ideal, but, as practice has shown, due to such changes in the work of the institution, relations with parents have become much closer.

At the end of the meeting, Oleg Kyrylenko and Johannes de Mol exchanged gifts.
