Apparently, there is no better evidence of the collapse of our city’s economy than the signs with the inscription "To rent" on the windows of commercial real estate, the number of which has increased in recent months by almost three times.
The quarantine has dealt a truly devastating blow to business. Shops, cafes, restaurants, studios, hairdressers and beauty salons were closed for a long time – everything. Consumers were left without goods and services, and entrepreneurs and their employees were left without any profit. And even now, with some relaxation of quarantine measures, they still can’t work normally.
The businessmen who leased the premises, probably, suffered the most. Not all property owners are willing to understand the situation and exempt suspended businesses from paying the rent. And if there is no profit – there is nothing to pay rent with.
As a result, businesses are being closed down, premises are being vacated, and advertisements with telephone numbers are being posted on empty windows and locked doors.
