The 7th festival of modern spiritual music will be held in Uzhgorod

The Chamber choir ‘Cantus’ presents the holiday to Uzhgorod citizens – the 7^th modern spiritual music festival which will be held on June 15-18.

The festivals conducted by ‘Cantus’ traditionally become the musical events of the city, however each of this year’s concert is going to be really special.

According to the festival organizer, the chamber choir ‘Cantus’ artistic director Emil Sokach, the new program was prepared this year for audience, much of which is composed of All-Ukrainian and world premieres’ works.

Young chamber singers – the festival guests – choose the juvenilia works of the prominent composers Shostakovych and Maler for their program. ‘Lviv soloists’ – musicians each concert of whom impresses with its perfection of performance skills, will play music of two Ukrainian titans – Silvestrov and Stankovich.

In addition, the festival audience will have an opportunity to get acquainted with works of two world-class composers: Latvian Peteris Vasks and Polish Voitsiekh Kiliar, known for his collaboration with famous Hollywood producers.
