It is located next to the premises of the head office of the Kominvestbank (which was the sponsor of the project). Fedir Shandor wrote about it on his Facebook page.
– On the eve of St. Nicholas’ Day, the work was presented by sculptor Roman Murnik, blacksmith Stepan Rusnak and the sponsor of the project – the team of the Kominvestbank.
The mini-sculpture is dedicated to the only Transcarpathian Nobel Prize winner, Friedman Milton, who comes from Transcarpathia.
Milton Friedman is an American economist known for his work on macroeconomics, microeconomics, economic history, statistics and his defense of free capitalism. In 1976, he was awarded the Alfred Nobel Prize for achievements in consumer research and demonstration of the complexity of stabilization policies.
He was the fourth child and the only son in a poor family of Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe, Geno Saul and Sarah Ethel Friedman, originally from the town of Beregszas, Hungary (now the town of Beregovo in Transcarpathian region, Ukraine).
