Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Nayev, reported that on the Sumy direction, fighters of the Territorial Defense Forces, defending the Northern operational zone, thwarted another attempt by an enemy sabotage-reconnaissance group to cross the state border of Ukraine.
Yesterday, at 18:20, near the Hlukhiv community, fighters from one of the strongholds observed the movement of an armed group consisting of ten individuals. Ukrainian fighters immediately engaged in a firefight and called in anti-sabotage reserves from their battalion. Within minutes, mortar teams joined, effectively blanketing the area with fire targeting the enemy forces.
Facing losses, the enemy changed tactics, splitting into two groups. One, under the cover of their artillery, carried out the evacuation of the bodies of the dead and wounded. The second group attempted to flank the stronghold. However, a counter-sabotage group arrived at the battlefield during this time.
The victorious battle lasted for an hour and a half. Thanks to the skillful actions of the defenders of the Northern direction, the enemy was pushed far beyond the Ukrainian border.
