As a result of the collision of two cars, an Audi and a Fiat Scudo, two people died, five more were hospitalized at a district hospital, including a young child. Police are currently establishing the circumstances and causes of the accident.
The police of Irshava department and investigators of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region are working at the scene.
The police received the report about a car accident on the Mukachevo-Rohatyn highway near the village of Midianytsia of Irshava district today at 17:40.
The Irshava Police Department investigation team and the regional police investigators are currently operating at the scene.
It has been preliminarily established that the driver of an "Audi", moving in the direction of Mukachevo, lost control, drove onto the oncoming lane, where he collided with a Fiat Scudo.
The crash killed two people and injured five more.
The victims were residents of the village of Dertsen in Mukachevo district: 41-year-old driver of the Audi and his 32-year-old passenger. There was also a 25-year-old resident of the same village in the car. He was taken to the district hospital.
The 37-year-old driver and three passengers of the Fiat Scudo car, including a young child, were also hospitalized to Irshava hospital. They are all residents of Vynogradiv district.
The issue of opening criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 288 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules if it caused death of several persons) is being decided.
