Today, April 9, in the Transcarpathian Regional Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, there was a workshop "The Magical World of Easter Eggs" organized for children in foster care and family type orphanages in the region.
In total, there was about one hundred participants: children and their foster parents, who were mastering the art of Easter egg making under guidance of 15 artists, mostly members of the regional branch of the National Union of Folk Artists of Ukraine.
The participants had the opportunity to practice various Esater egg making techniques, in particular to make such original and sophisticated Esater eggs, as carved, decorated with beads or reeled. "A lot of modern methods of Easter egg decorating are presented here, but probably, for many people, traditional Easter eggs made of natural materials invested with warmth and wisdom of our people remain the favorite, – the Head of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yuriy Hleba said, – We are pleased that through our craftsmen we can pass these skills on to the younger generation."
The Department of Culture has been organizing similar workshops in Easter egg making for 4 years in a row, and this year’s event was probably the most massive.
After the workshop, all families received holiday baskets with Easter cakes and chocolate Easter eggs. Also, sweet treats and sightseeing tour of Uzhgorod Skansen were organized for the children, the Department of Culture of the RSA informs.
