Today, January 13, in the course of the activities to counter illicit trafficking of excise goods as part of the operation "Excise 2016", officers of the Transcarpathian tax police seized 9,000 packs of cigarettes "Chesterfield" with excise tax stamps.
The tobacco products were seized as a result of the inspection of a bus "Lviv – Uzhgorod" at the bus station in the regional center of Transcarpathia.
The driver had no documents regarding the origin of cigarettes, their owner is currently being established.
According to preliminary data, the estimated cost of the excisable products is 162,000 UAH.
Primary investigative procedures are being conducted, the illegal act will be registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations under Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine over the illegal possession with the intent to sell and transportation with intent to sell of excisable goods.
