The Parliament decided to abolish the pension tax with 274 votes, the Ukrainska Pravda informs.
According to the chairwoman of the Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy Nina Yuzhanina, before voting, the committee received 32 amendments to the bill, of which 4 were taken into account.
"6 amendments were taken into account partly and essentially, 22 were rejected," – she said.
Also, according to the official, the content of the law is as follows: "to completely exempt from taxation working and non-working pensioners".
However, the committee introduced "ostensibly social justice."
"Pensions equal to more than 10 taxable minimum for disabled persons, which is 10,740 UAH, will be taxed at the rate of 80%," – Yuzhanina said.
Recall that on May 19, the Verkhovna Rada voted in the first reading for the bill to repeal the 15% tax on pensions which they have been subject to since 2015.
Taxation applies only to that part of the payments that exceed three minimum wages (4,134 UAH in 2016).
As announced in January 2015 by the then Ministry of Finance, the tax affected only 3% of pensioners.
