Take a note: the law on fines for failure to wear mask has entered into force in Ukraine

Today, November 21, the law on the introduction of fines for being in transport and public buildings without wearing means of personal protection (masks or respirators) came into force.

Thus, the law “On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)” was published on November 19.

The law aims to prevent the spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 among the population of Ukraine.

From now on, Article 44-3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine provides for punishment for being in public buildings, structures, public transport during quarantine without wearing means of personal protection, namely respirators or protective masks that cover nose and mouth.

Such offenses will be punished by a fine of 10 to 15 non-taxable minimum incomes (from 170 UAH to 255 UAH).

The relevant law was signed by Volodymyr Zelensky on November 19. The Verkhovna Rada adopted it on November 6.
