Tabachnyk wants to provide students with free internet

Education Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk has signed a letter of recommendation to rectors of universities, so they took up the question of free Wi-Fi for Ukrainian students.

"The quality of education depends on the ability to work with information," – said Tabachnyk to the newspaper "Segodnya".

"To cover the entire territory of the university with the network immediately will be difficult, but you can start from libraries. In dormitories Wi-Fi is also required in case students need to prepare for classes in evening or someone falls ill,"- said the Minister.

According to him, the Ministry is ready to help universities with finances. For example, to install filters to access erotic or gaming sites.

The Kyiv National Shevchenko University supports this idea.

"Our main building is on Wi-Fi, and soon others will be connected. It is convenient to both students and teachers. Right in the hallway or in the audience one can learn an information or repeat a paragraph" – said professor Volodymyr Shevchenko.
