The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine continues to implement a set of measures to counter illegal activities at the state border. Currently special operations are being conducted, involving law enforcement agencies of not only our country, but also those of the neighboring countries. One of them is "Frontier 2015", the main purpose of which is combating illegal migration.
In Transcarpathia, at the traffic police post in Nyzhni Vorota, border guards in cooperation with the traffic police stopped a car "BMW". Inside the car, besides the driver, a citizen of Ukraine, there were 3 Syrian citizen. Two of them were carrying permits for permanent residence in Ukraine valid until 2016. Another one claimed to be an entrant of Kharkiv Pharmaceutical University, however he did not provide any supporting documents. According to their words, they all were going to visit a friend in Uzhgorod.
In order to prevent illegal activity on the state border, the citizen of Syria was referred to the Transcarpathian police.
Note that during the last month alone, border guards of the Western Regional Department arrested 167 persons trying to illegally enter the European Union, the press service of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine informed.
