Sydorchuk has already packed his things

The regional prosecutor Oleg Sydorchuk is to resign from the prosecution office and to leave Transcarpathia by the end of week. This was reported to uzhgorod.in by sources in the prosecutor’s office. Sydorchuk resigns from prosecution as required by the Law "On lustration of power."

Thus, according to law, the prohibition to hold offices shall apply to persons who held offices for at least one year in the period from February 25, 2010 to February 22, 2014. Heads and deputy heads of territorial (regional) bodies of the Prosecution Service of Ukraine also come within the provision of the law. The Transcarpathian prosecutor, at the time of Yanukovych’s prsidency, for almost two years worked as the deputy prosecutor of Kyiv region. Moreover, during this period, he participated in the prosecution in the case of the so-called "Vasilkiv terrorists."

Oleg Sydorchuk was appointed in Transcarpathia by then General Prosecutor, a member of the "Svoboda" Oleg Makhnitsky in March. According to the lustration law, Oleg Sydorchuk cannot work in the prosecutor’s office for the next 10 years.
