On Monday, February 25, deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, members of the Party of Regions faction elected their new leader. They elected Igor Svyshcho, a Transcarpathian Regional Council deputy and the first deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration. The decision was adopted unanimously.
– I would like to thank you for the trust expressed to me by this decision, and urge you all to fruitful cooperation – the newly elected head of the faction Igor Svyshcho said. – For my part, I will make every effort to make the work of the Party of Regions faction in the Regional Council as effective as possible. Therefore, I will expect from you the same.
Previously, the Party of Regions faction in the Transcarpathian regional council was headed by Ivan Bushko. During the parliamentary election which took place in October last year, he was elected as a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and, accordingly, he resigned his powers as a deputy of the Regional Council and the head of the faction.
