Film screenings within traveling festival Docudays continue in Uzhgorod today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Lina Degtyareva reminds: "And tomorrow, Tanya Literati and I will briefly tell you about the history of our cinema "Uzhgorod".
From the annotation to tomorrow’s show:
"Audience Emancipated: The Struggle for the Emek Movie Theater" is the chronicles of the struggle in the heart of Istanbul, which became one of the most significant ones and paved the way for protests on Taksim Square. It tells about the "Emek" cinema, which was destroyed and turned into a mall contrary to the will of the people and to the detriment of the common good. This story resembles the recent events in the center of Uzhgorod, where the privately owned architectural monument of the modernist era is being thoughtlessly destroyed by the new owner."
Venue: Owl’s Nest, Uzhgorod.
