The regional championship in classical bench press among men took place in the sports complex "Olympia" in the village of Polyana in Svalyava district. The event was attended by champions and runners up of national and international competitions from cities of Uzhgorod and Mukachevo, as well as Slalyava and Perechyn districts.
The Champion of Ukraine and Junior Vice Champion of the World Yvehen Krysa, the Champions of Ukraine Oleksandr Shlyakhta, Leonid Kwiatkowski (all from Uzhgorod), representatives of Svalyava district Vasyl Drobit, vice-champion of Ukraine Yevhen Ivanchov, Volodymyr Ponyzhan, strongmen from Perechyn district – Ivan Marton, Yaroslav Sitar won in their respective weight classes.
Oleksandr Shlyakhta became the absolute champion among athletes of all weight categories and received a certificate for rest and recreation at the "Sunny Transcarpathia" resort from the head of Svalyava district administration Ivan Drohobetsky, whom the Regional Powerlifting Federation is grateful for charitable assistance in the organization of the regional championship.
In the team championship, the team of Slalyava district won the 1st place, Perechyn district – the 2nd place, the city of Uzhgorod – the 3rd place.
