Stringent requirements were set for Uzhgorod carriers regarding privileged passengers and adherence to traffic schedule

At the meeting with carriers and employees of the Department of Transport, Communications and Public Procurement, the Acting Mayor of Uzhgorod Istvan Tsap once again warned drivers about the obligation to behave politely and talk with all passengers, including students and citizens from privileged categories, who, by the decision of the executive committee of the City Council, can use public transport for free.

Each conflict between drivers and passengers will be investigated by the city authorities. It was also noted that soon, evey schoolchildren of Uzhgorod would receive student tickets of unified design – to avoid misunderstandings and manipulation with benefits for students.

They also discussed the adherence to the timetable, especially in the evening. In addition to the system on the site of Uzhgorod City Council that allows to track the movement of each bus on the route online using GPS, the carriers were asked to make sure that there is a timetable in each bus with end stops and frequency of trips indicated.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to future tender for transport service in the city that will be held for several routes, including two new routes to be introduced at the request of Uzhgorod residents. The requirements for the carriers, that will apply for the tender, will be very stringent, according to the modern European standards in terms of guality of vehicles, environmental impact and quality of services. In addition, the draft of the tender conditions will be put up for a wide public discussion to take into account suggestions and vision of Uzhgorod residents.
