Street repairs finally started in Uzhgorod

Repair work on the Mukachevo Street starts in the regional center on Tuesday, July 31, lasts approximately 10 days at least Uzhgorod Mayor Victor Pogorelov said so. As soon as repairs on this road end, Swabska Street reconstruction will be started. It is impossible to conduct work on both streets at the same time because it would essentially block the city center. Victor Pogorelov also noted that funds for the complete reconstruction and replacement of all networks is not enough, therefore work will be carried out in stages. The old stones, which will be removed from Shvabska Street, will be maintained at a dead end near the Regional Philharmonic. Subsequently, the mayor explained, by this stones will be used to cover Teatralna Square. He also promised that the pavements from which was removed the cover – will be restored.

In total nearly two dozen streets are going to repair in the town. In particular, it is planned to allocate 900 thousand hryvnia at Mukachevo Street reconstruction, 99 thousand hryvnia at Mozhaiska Street, 90 thousand at neighborhood of Odessa Street, 90 thousand at Caucasian Street and 180 thousand hryvnia at Telman Street.

As for Kapushanska, Zankovetska and Lehotskoho Street, its repair is left for next year. For the reconstruction of these roads, said Pogorelov, required very large sums of money.
