Strawberry boom in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

Prices for strawberries in the markets of Uzhgorod vary. However, they say, it has cheapened.

The correspondent of Uzhgorod in. went to the market on Koryatovich square and noticed that city residents were actively buying berries. They asked the price. Vynogradiv strawberries (from the garden), for example, cost 15 UAH.

If beauty is more important for you than taste, there is greenhouse strawberry – 17 UAH. It is more watery and not so sweet, but the berries are larger and have brighter color.

On the street (near the main entrance to the market), prices and appearances of fruits also vary.

At one outlet, Vynogradiv strawberries cost 15 and 13 UAH.

 If you are interested in strawberries from the village of Kontsovo (Uzhgorod district), then walking further down the street, you can buy them at 12 and 13 UAH per kilogram (the difference, the seller says, is only in the size of berries).

You can buy strawberries grown in the village of Shyroke, but it will cost you 17 UAH.

A buyer can taste a berry, but in general, there are enough buyers (they take, on average, half a kilogram).

At the "Piany" market, berries have also cheapened – there, you can buy a kilo of strawberries for 10 UAH. Larger picked berries cost 12 UAH per kilo. And at the end of the day, you can negotiate on lower price, buying strawberry for preserves.

By the way, strawberries (especially now) are rich in B vitamins, they contain more vitamin C than lemons, a lot of iron, copper and organic acids.   In addition to enriching body with vitamins, strawberry activates metabolic processes in the body, strengthens the cardiovascular system. Due to salicylic acid, it reduces fever and joint pain.
