This is how Naberezhna street in Irshava looked like yesterday, on Sunday, July 7th, after a brief storm with a strong wind, thunder and hailstones.
It was a second episode. The first shower took place in the morning of the same day. During the storm, the gutter couldn’t handle such amount of rainwater. The Irshavka river, which flows in the city center, was filled with muddy water and its level slightly rose. In the morning on Monday, there was no noticeable damage in the city center that could have been caused by the bad weather. Although, Irshava district was affected.
According to preliminary data (as of 07.00 July 8th), as a result of the bad weather 95 roofs of residential buildings were damaged, one on a village council building, 2 on kindergartens and 1 on a school in the villages of Uzhgorod and Irshava districts. Among other things, some trees fell on the roadways in settlements of the district. According to the "Zakarpatoblenergo" PJSC, 26 settlements in the region were left without electricity supply in Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Khust, Irshava, Svalyava, Tyachiv and Volovets districts.
