Statement by the Consulate of Hungary on the organization of transportation of Ukrainians across the Hungarian-Ukrainian border

Dear citizens!

In connection with the continued dissemination of information in different groups in social networks about transportation of citizens across the Hungarian-Ukrainian border by "consular" buses, we inform once again that there are NO "CONSULAR" or "EMBASSY" buses!

Neither the EMBASSY nor the CONSULATE are engaged in the carriage of citizens.

As of 07.04.2020, only the checkpoint TISA (ZAHONY-CHOP) is open at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, where citizens have the opportunity to use bus services provided by local authorities in cooperation with the state border service, private carriers, taxis or friends’ private cars.

To enter Ukraine, one only needs to have a valid passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad (foreign passport), legislation does not provide for any "CONSULAR" or "EMBASSY" permits for that.
