August 23 marks the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine. On this occasion, celebrations took place in front of the building of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, which were attended, in particular, by the First Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Oleh Kotsyuba and the Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Olga Travina, leadership of the regional council and law enforcement agencies, diplomats, representatives of the executive and local governments, political parties and associations of communities, residents and guests of the city.
To the sounds of a brass band and on the order of the garrison commander, the flag-carrying group carried the flag to the flagpole. It consisted of 6 military and law enforcement officials. It should be noted that the honorary right to carry the State Flag of Ukraine is given to the best servicemen and security officers. At the end of the ceremony, when the flag was raised, the National Anthem of Ukraine was played. On the occasion of the celebration, state flags were put up on the facades of the buildings adjacent to Narodna Square, as well as near the monument to Taras Shevchenko.
