On November 5, the celebrations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the State Archives in the region took place with participation of the regional officials. The event was attended by an official of the Ukraine’s State Archives Oleksandr Denisenko, as well as guests from abroad, representatives of the institutions cooperating with the regional archive. Those are: the Deputy Director General of the Budapest Metropolitan Archives Victor Harasti, the director of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg Comitat Archives of the National Archives of Hungary Eva Mecsei, the director of the Satu Mare county museum in Romania Daniella Balu.
Welcoming the audience, the acting head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Petik stressed on the honorable mission that is performed by the archive employees: "The archive of Transcarpathia combines histories of Ukrainian, Slovak, Czech, Hungarian, Austrian and many others peoples. You have a very important mission, not only to preserve the memory, but also to pass it to future generations."
In turn, the director of the State Archives of Transcarpathian region Mykhailo Misyuk wished his colleagues good health, inspiration, family welfare, moral and material satisfaction from archival work.
The best archives employees during the celebration were awarded with certificates of honor and gratitude.
Note: Today, the State Archives of Transcarpathian region is a treasure trove of unique documents on the history of the region, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Poland, Austria, Germany, Serbia, Russia and other European countries. The collected archival documents cover the history of Transcarpathia since its entry into Hungary, Austria, Austria-Hungary (XIV c. – 1919), Czechoslovakia (1919 – 1938), the occupation of the land by Hungary (1939 – 1944), the guerrilla movement. The documents of the Soviet period cover the formation and reunification of the Transcarpathian Ukraine with the Ukrainian SSR, Soviet building in Transcarpathia.
Since the independence of Ukrainian state, all archival documents stamped with "Top Secret" and "Confidential" were declassified.
Over 70 years of activity, the archivists have produced numerous publications in the press, scientific journals and published dozens collections of documents. Among the fundamental scientific and documentary publications, which have been prepared in recent years in cooperation with the Regional Archives, the most notable ones are the books of regional editorial boards "Rehabilitated by History" and the books of the Search and Publishing Agency "Memory Book of Ukraine."
