St. Martin’s Day will be celebrated in Mukachevo (Program)

This year, they will celebrate the 1700th anniversary of Martin of Tours, the patron saint of Mukachevo.

The inauguration of St. Martin Day will take place in the city center. Children with lanterns will march the streets of Mukachevo. There will also be a theatrical performance retelling the legend of St. Martin.

November 11 (Friday) – city center, Peremoha Park.

11.00 – 21.00 – Working hours of the festival camp;

17.00 – Church of St. Martin – a solemn prayer service in honor of the patron saint, children’s mini-show – "The Legend of St. Martin";

17.30 – Inflammation of holiday lights. Flash mob in honor of the 1700th anniversary of St. Martin (forming the figure "1700" with lighted lanterns on the square near the church);

17.45 – Ceremony of laying the first stone of the future monument to St. Martin;

18.00 – General procession with lighted lanterns to the City Hall;

18.15 – Solemn speech of the Mayor to townspeople and visitors of Mukachevo. Symbolic sprinkling of land with wine for fertility in the coming year;

18.30 – Solemn procession from the City Hall to the festival camp in the Peremoha Park. Meanwhile, in the park, at 18.30, the performance of the ancient music ensemble "Kings & Beggars" from Lviv will begin.

19.00 – Meeting of the procession participants with St. Martin, theatrical reenactment of the legend (Peremoha Park);

19.20 – Presentation of lanterns and awarding of winners;

19.50 – Knight joust with the participation of members of historical reenactment club "Order of St. Nicholas";

20.10 – Fire-show with the participation of the fire theater "FIRE LIFE" (the city of Uzhgorod);

20.30 – Performance of the ancient music ensemble "Kings & Beggars" (the city of Lviv).

21.00 – Performance of the dance team "Art-Line"

November 12 (Saturday) – Peremoha Park.

11.00 – 21.00 – Working hours of the festival camp.

From 14.00 to 17.00, in the park:

         – Medieval camp (costumes, paraphernalia, souvenirs, archery, medieval guns, horseback riding);

– Joust in honor of St. Martin "Metal Heart" with the participation of representatives from different regions of Ukraine.

November 13 (Sunday) – Peremoha Park.

11.00 – 21.00 – Working hours of the festival camp.

From 14.00 – Entertainment program with the participation of giants on stilts in medieval clothes; workshops on archery, music, dancing.

Festival camp includes restaurants with themed menus, wine-makers with new wine, pastry, honey sellers.
