They joke that there was no spring this year, and winter at least in Transcarpathia quite abruptly turned into summer. The glimmering sun, the heat, the crowded coffee shop terraces, the short skirts, the sunshades, the ice cream, the sparrows bathing in the Uzh, and scattered fallen petals of the sakuras.
But still, it’s not summer yet. For me, there are two markers of the summer. The first one is new Transcarpathian potatoes in the markets at an affordable price. At the moment, they cost as much as 35-45 hryvnias. The second marker is people swimming in the Uzh. And even according to the calendar, it’s still more than twenty days to real summer. So, let’s not hurry. Spring is a great seasom, no reason to say goodbye to it too soon.
I love looking at photos taken during some springtime events or just walks around the city. Especially, photos of people. Like two girls running fast under the jets of a fountain, or a stranger reading something on the bench in the park, or a young girl enjoying herself on a swing.
Enjoy the spring. It is cool!
