Soon, Uzhgorod will see Hlyuk’s paintings from private collections (Announcement)

This was announced during a press conference by Yosyp Homoki, grandson of the artist.

In particular, he brought the famous silver medal, which was dedicated to Havrylo Hlyuk in 1958 at the World Exhibition of Fine Arts in Brussels.

Oleksandr Alexandrov, another grandson of Havrylo Hlyuk, noted that the silver medal is an evidence of the artist’s recognition level as, apart from Dovzhenko, no other Ukrainian artist has ever received such international awards.

This year the artist would have turned 105. Therefore, his grandchildren decided to organize an exhibition in Uzhgorod.

Victor Homoki, the third grandson of the artist, said that they would try to show something new that viewers have not yet seen at the shows. In particular, some works from private collections that have been not been shown to wide audience for 25 years.

The exhibition opens on February 9, in the Transcarpathian Art Museum.
