Smugglers tried to move the cigarettes across the border by a small aircraft (VIDEO)

Last night, the response team of the department "Uzhgorod" of the Chop border guard detachment was sent to check airspace and approaches to the border to identify possible takeoff and landing spots for air targets in Transcarpathia.

At night, border guards of the department "Uzhgorod" while patrolling heard an engine noise. As a result of search operations in cooperation with other units of the detachment, a few hundred meters from the border, officers of the State Border Guard Service found two citizens of Ukraine in two cars with Ukrainian and Slovak registration. During the inspection of the vehicles – "Peugeot" and "Volkswagen" – they found 3,400 packs of cigarettes and a drone.

At present, the citizens, along with the cars, the drone and the cigarettes were handed over to the police. The report on the detection of a criminal offense under Art. 204 of the Criminal Code (illegal manufacture, possession, sale or transportation with intent to sell of excisable goods) was sent to National Police office in Transcarpathian region.
