Smugglers left 43 boxes of cigarettes near the border with Romania (PHOTOS)

An attempt to smuggle a large batch of tobacco products across the border was stopped this morning by border guards of the Mukachevo detachment. 
At about 4 a.m., border guards of the department "Tyachiv" spotted a group of people near the Tisa river, which forms the border with Romania. The unknown men ignored legal orders of the border guards and fled in the direction of Bila Tserkva. During the inspection of the area, where the offenders had been spotted, border guards found 43 boxes of contraband cigarettes. 
The offenders planned to move to the neighboring country almost 22 thousand packs of cigarettes. 
Border guards delivered tobacco products to the border guard unit, and measures are being taken to identify the persons involved in the illegal operation.
