Last night, border guards of the Chop detachment thwarted an attempt at smuggling using a small aircraft.
While patrolling, the district inspector of the department "Solomonovo" of the Border Guard Division "Tisa" noticed two unknown persons near the border. In the course of the search activities, the response team found a drone in the field. The aircraft with a parachute landing system was apparently prepared for illegal activities. Usually, such aircrafts are used to smuggle small batches of excisable goods across the border. The persons, who tried to fly the drone, ran towards the village of Solomonovo, Uzhgorod district. Measuers to find and identify the persons involved in the illegal activity are being taken. After the appropriate procedural measures, the plane was handed over to the National Police.
