Smuggled champagne worth 57 thousand hryvnias was detained at the border

Last weekend a Ukrainian doing regular passenger transportation via the international crossing point "Tisa" was detained.On arrival at the border and customs control, the "Setra" bus immediately attracted attention because border guards had prior information about the possible transportation of things and objects across the border in violation of the procedure set by the law. Based on analysis and risk assessment, the above vehicle was inspected.In the luggage compartment of the bus among the passengers’ personal belongings they found hidden sparkling Italian wine of the brand MARTINI ASTI in the amount of 360 bottles and the brand ASTI MONDORO in the amount of 216 bottles.Alcoholic beverages were seized according to the established procedure and pre-evaluated at over 57,000 UAH.
