Slovaks detained two Transcarpathian smugglers

At the checkpoint Uzhgorod – Vysne Nemecke on Ukrainian-Slovak border, Slovak customs officers detained two Ukrainians who were trying to smuggle more than 112 thousand cigarettes without excise stamps.

The approximate cost of the contraband is estimated at 15,000 euros – Slovak media reported.

537 cartons of cigarettes were found in the car of a 24-year-old Transcarpathian by a trained dog. Another Transcarpathian tried to smuggle 24 cartons of cigarettes in a truck. Our compatriots face imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.
