Slovakia will help Ukraine to organize reverse gas supplies

Bratislava is ready to help Kyiv to organize the reverse gas supplies, but only at market prices

This was reported by the "RIA Novosti" with reference to the statement of the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.

According to Fico, assisting Ukraine is in the interests of the EU, but that does not mean that Europe should pay for it.

"We are ready to help, but this help is cost limited," – the prime minister said.

Fico said that problems had occured already at the stage of negotiations with Ukraine: Kyiv hopes that Slovakia will invest in this project, but guarantees nothing.

Also, according to the prime minister, an important concern is the preservation of Russian gas supplies to Bratislava through Ukraine.

Earlier, the European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger said that the agreement on the reverse gas supplies from Slovakia to Ukraine can be achieved by the end of April. And the supplies can start this year.
