Slovak police announced enhanced control on the border of Slovakia and Ukraine starting from April 2017, as it is the external border of the European Union – the Mukachevo.net informed.
– Until now, simplified border control has been applied to the majority of citizens who crossed the border of the European Union. That is, policemen could decide the extent of check at their discretion – the Director of the Border Police Ladislav Cemi told the media.
However, as of April 1, this rule shall be canceled and everyone crossing the border will be thoroughly checked.
Moreover, according to Ladislav Cemi, there will be no preferences – nor for citizens of the Slovak Republic, nor those of other Member States of the European Union, nor third-country nationals.
