The breach of contractual obligations while transporting the cargo by railway and disregarding of delivery times of goods to the destination points were uncovered by the customs officials of the post ‘Tchop-Railway’. The report on violation of customs regulations was drawn up, said Viktoria Sengetovskaya, a spokesman of Tchop customs.
During the customs control of a freight train, which was used in ‘transit’ from Russia to Slovakia to transfer the cargo ‘rods of stainless steel of cold processing’ weighing 60 tons, the accompanying documents attracted the attention of Chop inspectors. When importing it into the territory of Ukraine Kharkiv regional customs office had set a clear time delivery of goods – from 15.02.12 to 14.03.12.
As it turned out later, the carriage had been uncoupled due to a technical fault on one of the stations of Odessa Railway, where it stayed for a month. But no official appeals to the customs authorities about the extension of the delivery had been reported from Ukrzaliznytsia over this period. Although it is provided in the Regulations adopted by the joint order of the State Customs Service of Ukraine and Ministry of Transport of Ukraine № 1019/1143 of 18.09.2008.
For the violation of customs legislation the protocol was drawn up in respect of the station technology center chief according to the article 349 of Customs Code of Ukraine. Cargo worth 460,000 hryvnia has been withdrawn till the court decision.
