Slovak children sing carols to Transcarpathians (PHOTOS)

On Monday, January 12, Uzhgorod welcomed special guests. The visit of children from the Slovak town Vranov nad Topl’ou to our region has become a tradition: after Christmas, they cheer the neighboring region with carols.

The delegation of caroling students came together with the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Vranov nad Topl’ou Stanislav Obitski. The diplomat had a meeting with the regional officials and taking this opportunity young Slovak guests sang carols on Narodna Square. They were welcomed by the head of the Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal and the Regional Council chairman Volodymyr Chubirko. They gave the children sweets and memorable presents and agreed that the next Christmas they would organize joint Slovak-Ukrainian caroling.

After that, little carolers went on to cheer other Transcarpathians. One of the main visits is to the friendly Uzhgorod specialized school №4, where students learn the Slovak language and culture.
