Transcarpathian prosecution for supervision over the observance of laws in the field of transport take measures to strengthen the fight against crimes related to the theft of railway property by groups of individuals.
According to the Transcarpathian prosecutor to oversee the observance of laws in the field of transport Ihor Syekhin, on December 29, 2011, six citizens of Ukraine, acting intentionally, by prior agreement, dismantled closed to traffic stretch of deadlock track number 9 at the station of Strabichovo at Lviv Railway and stole materials of the tracks superstructure in amount over 51 thousand hryvnias.
Investigative Division at the station of Mukachevo at Lviv Railways prosecuted these people on the grounds of an offense under Part 2 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft, committed by a group of persons), the investigation was taken to control by the Transcarpathian prosecution for the supervision over the observance of laws in the field of transport.
November 15 Mukachevo city district court with the Deputy Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region to oversee compliance with the laws in the field of transport considered this criminal case, two of the perpetrators were sentenced for 2 years and another five – for one year and a half of imprisonment. The citizens in question were convicted and under Art. 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine were exempted from serving their sentence if within one year of probation they do not do a new offense – informed the press service of the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region.
