With the approval of the prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region, investigators of the Transcarpathian police indicted two residents of Mukachevo district on a charge of attempted murder of two or more persons committed by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 15, paragraph 1, 12, Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code Of Ukraine). Recall that the incident happened on February 7, 2020, in Mukachevo. In the morning, about 10 o’clock, the police received a report of a shooting on Sechenov Street. The applicant stated that he had heard gunshots and seen drivers of two vehicles firing at a man hiding behind a fence. Two people were shot – a 24-year-old and a 40-year-old men from Mukachevo.
In the course of investigation, law enforcement officers gathered evidence proving the involvement of two local residents in the commission of this crime. They are a 41-year-old resident of the village of Stare Davydkovo, Mukachevo district, and a 33-year-old resident of Mukachevo. The latter is currently being held in custody on suspicion of committing other crimes. In particular, an attempted murder of a taxi driver in Mukachevo, which took place on March 17, 2020.
On May 19, 2020, both attackers were indicted by the prosecutor’s office on a charge of an attempted murder of two or more persons by a group of persons with prior conspiracy.
Today, on May 20, the investigating judge of the Uzhgorod City and District Court granted the prosecution’s request to detain the 41-year-old resident of the village of Stare Davydkovo, Mukachevo district, for 60 days. Further pre-trial investigation is underway.
