"We knew that we’re facing reorganization by 2024. That is, we had to be converted into a lyceum. However, there is a draft decision on the dissolution of the school on the regional council’s website. We do not understand what this means. But, apparently, the school will be closed and the property will be given to the district," – the director of the school Ivanna Romochuska-Karavan tells.
The sanatorium school, the only one in the region, is designed for 300 children. There are currently 134 children there. Children are from all districts of the region. Students have diseases of the respiratory system, cardiovascular system.
"Our children undergo health care procedures. We have all the necessary equipment. There is constant medical supervision," – Natalia Haza, the institution’s chief physician said.
Parents say they will not let close the institution.
"Our children are ill, they need medical care at school. I have a child with asthma, if she gets sick, she can get professional help, so I’m not worried when she’s in school. We sincerely hope that we will be heard," – Mrs. Olga, the mother of a student, says.
