Prosecutor of the region instituted a criminal case against Uzhgorod deputy mayor Vitaliy Semal on grounds of crimes under Art. 365 of the Criminal Code – abuse of power. He is currently held in a temporary detention facility of Uzhgorod police department. During the investigation the police found that the deputy head of Uzhgorod City Council and the chairman of the Temporary oversight committee to study the issue of and provide suggestions on preparation for the heating season 2011-2012 in preschools and secondary schools Vitaly Semal on November 4, 2010, exceeding his official authority, at the expense of Uzhgorod City Council bought mini-boilers for heating schools and preschools.
According to the conclusion of technical expertise the difference between modular boilers actually purchased and those that were requiered to be purchased is 1,734,718 UAH.
