Today, the World Petanque Championship among women’s teams starts in the Chinese city of Kaihua, the karpatpost informs.
The teams consist of three main players and one substitute. The basis of the team of Ukraine are three Uzhgorod girls – Oleksandra Shevchenko, Valentina Slizh and Oleksandra Kuzma. The fourth player of the team is Hanna Zosimenko from Kyiv.
The coach of the Ukrainian national team is a Polish specialist with French roots David Nulo.
Recall that although France is considered to be the birthplace of this game, it has gained enormous popularity in Transcarpathia over the past few years.
