Robert Horvat: Today we made another step towards a civilized market of used cars

Innovations of the automobile market in Ukraine: this year 2017 will not be the last one for the Euro-5. The bill №5624 drafted by MP Robert Horvat received the necessary support during the voting in the Parliament, the Auto.ria.com informs. The document was adopted as a whole, which means that the Euro 6 standard will come to Ukraine on January 1, 2020, that is, 2 years later than planned.

The requirements of the environmental standards Euro in Ukraine are applied to new and used cars, which are registered in its territory for the first time. That is only new cars and cars imported from abroad must meet applicable standard "Euro". For vehicles, that are already in Ukraine legally (cleared and duly registered), nothing changes. And Ukrainians will still be able to import more affordable cars with mileage using reduced rates of excise duty.

The author of the bill Robert Horvat commented on the news: "Today we made another step towards a civilized market of used cars. It is not just postponement of the ecological standard Euro 6 to 2020, but also a year of application of lower excise taxes. We are working on."

Recall that in April the Committee for European Integration decided to appeal to the Government Office for European Integration regarding the review of the bill for conformance to the obligations of Ukraine in the field of European integration.
