Rise of the water level in the rivers is expected in Transcarpathia

Typical for spring floods high water content in the rivers of the region remains, the Tisa river basin water administration informs.

As a result of snow melting in the mountains and the highlands, yesterday water level on the rivers increased by 0.1-0.5 m without the release of water onto the floodplain. In the Latorytsya (in the vicinity of Chop) – third degree of flood protection, water is held in the floodplain betwenn dams.

Yesterday, 11 fixed pumping stations of Latorytsya and Beregovo drainage system were employed to pump out flood runoff. During a day, 1,202,200 cubic meters of water was pumped, since the beginning of the flood – 26,554,110 cubic meters.

During the day, increase of water levels is expected in the rivers of the region: in the Uzh – up to 1 m without release of water onto the floodplain. In the Latorytsya river, in Svalyava site – up to 1.3 m, in Mukachevo site – up to 0.5 m without release of water onto the floodplain. In the Borzhava river in Dovhe site – up to 1 m without release of water onto the floodplain, in the lower reaches of the Borzhava (N. Remeta) – up to 1.5 m with a possible release of water onto the floodplain. In the Tisa river: upper reaches (Rakhiv site) – up to 0.7 m, in the section "Tyachiv – Kryva" – up ​​to 1.5m without release of water onto the floodplain.
