Right Sector warns! (Statement)

The Right Sector of Transcarpathia appealed to all individuals and organizations that will take part in the events on the 1st and 9th of May.

"We want to note that the treat all countrymen and visitors of our region with respect and understanding, regardless of their political views, but we will not idly watch the desecration of state symbols and blatant demonstration of flags and symbols of foreign aggressors.

We appeal to all the organizers and participants of the May events with a request not to distribute and not to demonstrate on the streets of Ukrainian cities enemy flags, badges and awards, such as the red flag of the Soviet Union, the Russian tricolor and St. George ribbon.

We do not have any preconceptions about those symbols as such, but today foreign invaders and armed separatists under those flags and with those ribbons are bringing war to long-suffering Ukrainian land. Under these flags, today they are pronouncing calls for separatism and division of Ukraine, so we have no moral right to allow these symbols to be demonstrated on our streets.

We also appeal to the police and the Security Service of Ukraine with a request to conduct outreach to prevent hate speech and inciting conflicts during peaceful demonstrations.

In turn, members of the Right Sector will be patrolling venues of events in order to prevent provocations by provocateurs and pro-Russian separatists.

We reiterate that blatant demonstration of Russian and Soviet flags, St. George ribbons will be treated by us as support of the foreign aggressor and the call for separatism" – the statement, signed by leader of the the Right Sector in Transcarpathia Oleksandr Sachko, says.
