Yesterday, August 20, 2013, residents of the house 11 on Korzo street, located in the historic part of Uzhgorod, addressed the Mayor of Uzhgorod Victor Pogorelov with the requirement to convene a regular meeting of the City Council for reconsideration of the vetoed paragraph 1.4 of the decision № 1003 – Zakarpattya online reported.
The reason is that the mayor of Uzhgorod, contrary to law, still has not convened the regular plenary meeting of the City Council for reconsideration of the above paragraph of the decision. Meanwhile, in accordance with Part 4 of Article 59 of the Law of Ukraine "On Local Self-Government in Ukraine", "any decision of the City Council, within five days from the date of its adoption, may be suspended by the mayor and submitted for reconsideration by the council with justification of the comments. The Council is required within two weeks to re-consider such decision. If the Council rejects comments of the Mayor and confirms the previous decision by two-thirds of all members of the Council, it shall take effect."
Recall that this refers to the single entrance-passage of the historic house number 11, part of the architectural monument of local importance "Castle Hill Complex" of XVI-XIX centuries, which was also referred to in the previous collective appeal dd. 31.07.2013.
