Throughout the night, Transcarpathian mountain rescuers were searching for two Uzhgorod women that had gone to pick mushrooms yesterday and had not returned home in the evening. The report was received by the Rescue Service yesterday, November 10, at 18:25. Relatives sounded the alarm. They also reported that in the morning the women had gone for a quiet hunt in the forest of the Horyany neighbourhood near the regional center.
Specialists of the mountain search and rescue departments of Uzhgorod and the village of Vyshka were sent for search operation.
The night searches, which lasted until 8 am today, did not yield the desired results. After the rotation, rescuers joined by colleagues from Mukachevo, foresters and police resumed the search. A total of 21 rescuers and three units of equipment were engaged.
At 10:50 on November 11, one of the search teams came across the trail of the missing women: near the village of Strypa, Uzhgorod district, rescuers first found one of the victims, and 20 minutes later found the other one. Rescuers gave the victims hot tea and took them home.
